Meekness and Mourning

Matthew 5:3-5 “Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the
kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall
be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.” (KJV)

Blessed are they that mourn, who feel the pain of their sin.
Thereby they will turn to God and by Him born again.
We cannot find salvation until we see our sin.
Confessing our sin to God, receiving the Savior within.

The meek accept and yield to the purpose of the Lord.
The purpose may cause pain but this is Love’s strong cord.
It draws us to the Savior, as comfort never could.
Then brings us to repentance and this is as it should.

Yielding to God’s great love will bring us to His heart.
There we’ll find forgiveness, also a brand new start.
The joy of finding Jesus will last forevermore.
We’ll see Him face to face when reaching heaven’s shore.

Better to mourn today that joy may be our lot.
And finding God’s forgiveness, which cleanses every blot.
Pride will keep us from meekness. It is the root of sin.
Humble your heart before God and invite the Savior in.

Matthew 5:6 “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after
righteousness: for they shall be filled.” (KJV)
