Walking With the World
By Rev. Dean Beaty 2/25/11
Amos 3:3 “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” (KJV)

“Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”
We first must walk with God and go where He will lead.
No one who knows not God should have influence on your life.
The Lord must reign supreme when choosing man or wife.

“Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”
This is a truth from God, a warning we must heed.
Does a friendship lift your soul or bring you further down?
This is not a person with which you should be found.

“Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”
Upon the Word of God do your companions feed?
Are there things in common with those who know not God?
If you speak of Jesus, do they think you’re odd?

“Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”
There is no common ground as important as one’s creed.
Your language will reflect the companions that you choose.
If you’re walking with the world, Christ’s pleasure you’ll loose.

“Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”
Friendship with the world, you’re spirit will impede.
Will men see a difference from you and those around?
When lying down with dogs, you’ll smell just like a hound.

II Corinthians 6:14-1 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” (KJV)
