Some folks are born, open their minds, learn how to walk and talk and make money. Then they slam the door shut, throw away the key, and never again think out of the box. But they do know how to multiply, for their name is Legion.
(Slightly vulgar translation of Matthew 13:13-15)
"...because they seeing, see not; and hearing, they hear not, neither do they understand, and in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah which says, By hearing you shall hear but not understand, and seeing you will see but not perceive. For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest at any time they sould see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart..."
The condition is voluntary, and mighty dangerous, then and now!
