Temptations

James 1:12 “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation:
for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life,
which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” (KJV)

Temptations seldom come just once
But usually they come in a bunch.
These we must learn to endure.
It’s by this way our walk is pure.

When we’re approached by Satan’s wiles,
It’s for God’s praise we face these trials.
May our response then honor God
And prove to us we’re not a fraud.

Christ could have turned those stones to bread,
But by His Father not been led.
“Man shall not live by bread alone.” *
So Christ left them to still be stone.

How does this truth apply to me?
Bread will not last eternally.
When obeying God is our goal,
Honor to God we will extol.

Matthew 4:4 “But he answered and said, It is written,
Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word
that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” (KJV)
