I have a confession to make.
I am a fan of Mandy Moore.
Those who know me would be surprised to hear that. First of all, I am generally not a fan of "pop" music. I'm more into hardcore rock 'n' roll. Secondly, I have gained a reputation as an aggressive, competitive, hard-nosed sports fanatic who doesn't wear her heart on her sleeve. My friends call me "Killer Miller" or "da killa". I am a big fan of basketball, football, and action flicks. In other words, I am not known as a "girly" girl.
I am not one-dimensional, however. There is another side to my personality. Sometimes I enjoy going shopping or catching a "chick flick" with my gal pals. I own a copy of the movie "Beaches", for goodness' sake! I also like getting dressed up and looking gorgeous and stunning. I occasionally wear pink. If I flip through TV channels and come across figure skating, I just might watch it. I rarely miss an episode of "As The World Turns" or "Judging Amy". And I am a fan of Mandy Moore.
I have been following Ms. Moore's career ever since she starred in the movie "A Walk To Remember", one of the few movies that make me cry. I bought the soundtrack to the film, and I love listening to it. I especially like the song "Cry", and Mandy's version of "Only Hope" is very beautiful and sweet. I am not a fan of Britney or Christina or Jessica, but I do like what I've seen and heard from Mandy Moore.
Tomorrow afternoon, I'm going to watch the Heat and the Hornets battle it out and the Spurs and the Lakers resume their rivalry. Afterwards, maybe I'll put on a pink shirt over my basketball jersey, and then cry into my Yoplait as I watch "A Walk To Remember".
