The bible says in Hebrews 10:26 "For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins," (King James Version)

Several years ago I was attending my mom's church while visiting her one Easter weekend. At the time, they were holding Easter services in a cafeteria of a high school. I liked these services because of the singing, bible readings, and short skits that some of the church members performed.

In one skit, one person was playing Jesus while another person was playing a christian.

It started off with the christian having a serious relationship with Christ. He would spend time with him every day, read the bible, go to church, and pray. Things were going well for a while, but then he would start going back to the cares of the world and spend less and less time with Jesus.

Everday when he came home he would see Jesus sitting on the couch, waiting patiently. The man would end up with a different story every day for not having time to spend with Jesus.

So Jesus kept waiting patiently. Then one day the man came home and said to Jesus, "Lord, I'm sorry, but I'm just too busy, and I don't think I can spend time with you anymore. It's been nice, but I can't give up my friends or bars. I'm sorry, but it's over".

With that said, he took Jesus by the hand, walked him outside, took a hammer and nails, and nailed him onto the cross.

God sent Jesus down, and he became sin for us (2 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice needed so we could have a relationship with the creator. Without the blood of the lamb, there is no cleansing or forgiveness of sins (Hebrews 9:22-28).

If after accepting Jesus and receiving the knowledge of truth (God's word Hebrews 10:26), we still live life as we did before accepting him, then it is as if we nailed the Saviour back on the cross. It makes it, so there was no sacrifice. It shows they hear the word of God but let the cares of this world (Luke 8:14) block God's word out of them (Mark 4:18-19), therefore, making it unable to bear fruit (work).

Acceptance of Christ comes from the heart. Sure, one can say the "Sinner's Prayer", or as I like to call it, The prayer of acceptance, but it should be said with the heart. God knows the heart (Psalms 44:21) and can tell if one means it or not. If one wants to change and is honest about it, then Jesus will come in and begin to work on them. Do not put off until tomorrow what can be today. If you are ready for a new beginning, then recite the following prayer and ask Christ into your life.

Heavenly Father,

For many years, I have walked the path of darkness. I thought I was happy there, but all I ever found was trouble, sadness, and pain. There was always something missing from my life, and I know it was you. I'm sorry for all I put you through with my sinning; I now ask for forgiveness and that you would wash me clean with the blood of your Son Jesus who gave himself as a living sacrifice on the cross. I now surrender my sins, life, and myself over to you. Thank you Lord for coming into my life. I say these things in the name of your beloved son Jesus.
