A Work In Process Roadblocks In Our Way

Hebrews 12:1 wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and sin which doth so easily beset us and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Roadblocks in our way, we have a call and Satan works against the call by trying to cloud the minds of God’s people. The real eternal you that allow the human body or human spirit to dictate its present life and future destination is found in our souls, the headquarters of man, his will, mind, conscience intellect and emotions. Malachi 3:1, behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me; and the Lord whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in; behold he shall come, said the Lord of host.

Matthew 20:6, so the last shall be first and the first last for many are called, but a few chosen. We have a call and we all have a specific work we have be chosen to do. St. John 15:16 ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you that ye should go and bring forth fruit and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he may give it you.

We are in between a mess. We have two pulls and one push. Satan and the world pull us one way, but God pushes us forth. We can go forth. Jesus is here; make up our minds to stay the course. Philippians 1:23 for I am in a strait between two having a desire to depart and to be with Christ which is far better. We want to depart this world and go to heaven but we can’t because we have to live out our call. We have work to do. The Devil sets himself before us and offers us as he did Jesus this whole world that already belongs to God. David said it best in Psalm 24 the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell therein.

No matter what God tells us to do, obey and do, keep God’s charge, his statutes, his judgments and his commandments. Elijah came to the people in I King 18:21 and said, how long halt ye between two opinions. If the Lord is God, follow him, but if Baal then follow him. The people didn’t say a word. These people withstood God and willfully sinned. To them that know to do good and do it not it is sin and we offend God to his face when we displease him with our acts we love doing which pleases the flesh.

In the world a work in process is counted as a finished product on hand although it is not finished yet. It also means that at some point it will be available for use. It’s done in accounting all the time. It’s for sale but has not hit the shelves yet. Many times they will give you a rain check to come and pick it up when it gets there. That’s how it is with God, He allows us to be worked over so that He can use in certain particular areas that He can’t use others. We are works in process for God’s use now or later. We will finish our tasks for which we were sent.

Roadblocks are barriers, obstacles, impediments, hindrances, or hurdles that has been set to prevent, retard the growth or progress in our call to vex our souls. The heroes of faith before us had a race to run very much more difficult than we have today. They became champions because they stayed the course. We have not been called to God to just suck up his air. We were after all created to the praise of his glory. In preparing for this race we must exercise our faith, building it up every day in the Word. We get muscle strength from working them every day. It takes the same way in the Word every day you become strong. Fast and praying every day builds up the inner fortress where the enemy comes to steal our joy. We are a work in process, therefore take with you every day what you need to accomplish your call. Think on today, tomorrow will take care of itself.

Because of the adversary of God we have roadblocks. Satan set these roadblocks to stop our progress. This message comes to encourage us to stay the course we have been called to no matter what seems like or looks like in our lives today. When we look in the mirror we see a body, a person, but what’s on the outside is not who we are. It’s God’s Spirit he breathe into man that helps us to go on in spite of.

We don’t want to jump lanes. When we are driving we see people swerve in an out of traffic. It’s like there is no stability and when they get to where they are going we arrive at the same place at the same time. Endure the ride and let God be the director. Everybody wants to be first to get to heaven, but there is a highway and a way we have to follow to get to Jesus that will bring us to heaven. Satan is still warring with God for the souls of men.

If we get caught up in the roadblock and take our eyes off of God we can bring the wrath of God down upon us. Wrath is a strong vengeful anger and we experience divine chastisement. We do not want to incur God’s wrath. When we displease God we cause God to lose it with us and we open ourselves up to the attack of the enemy of our souls. Disobedience to God’s Will and way is a roadblock. The joy of the hypocrite is but for a moment. The way that man takes is in complete opposition to God’s Word. When their way or thoughts does not line up with his Holy Word we have to get back on track, don’t give up or give in; we are a work in process.

It’s time for us to awake out of sleep and get back to the reason we are here. We have been called. God gave a call to man, Jesus came as a man and He called man back to God and the Holy Ghost is here to help us to fulfill that call. Called means we have been summoned by God, available if required, the designated one, whether by appeal or invitation. God through Jesus has made a call for repentance of every soul. We are God’s messengers in the earth, the Church; a collective body of believers called to service to offer salvation to a dying world, but the chosen will come and he will be a refiner of what God has already done through his called messengers. We have been called to prepare the way, may the path straight, Baptize, preach and offer repentance to every dying soul. So why aren’t we doing the work that goes with the call?

II Chronicles 7:14 if my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. We must have a will to do as we progressively grow in our call. Our eyes are open to the truth, our ears are attentive to what we are hearing and our faith is built up. God has chosen us a sanctified house, that his name will be there forever and our eyes and hearts shall be there perpetually.

When God build us up we do not want to forget to encourage every newly repentant heart to continually confess their faults or sin. Although we are called there are those chosen for a specific work, the elect more suitable for a work, handpicked, special, preferred or favored. We all have our specialties of special abilities from God. Why do we run from the call? So many Christians are walking away from God. We have to be foot soldiers on the battlefield for the Lord. Why do we run from what is good for us? Jesus is the lover of our soul.

Jesus is the best thing that ever happened to us. He gives rest to the restless. He will never forsake us. He is our salvation, sanctification, and he loves us unconditionally. We are a work in process and we find that there are roadblocks set up to block us as we walk in the straight and narrow way There is a way that seen right to man but the way thereof is the way of death. We never want to look back to the way we were, but look forward to our future. A look back can cause us to stand back rather than go forward. When we do look back it is for a testimony of what God has brought us through for his glory. We are a work in process, keep stepping over the roadblocks that has been set in the way we take. God will establish us in righteousness.

All who are called of God and live godly will suffer persecution. Whom God did predestinate, them he also called; and whom he called, them he also justified, and whom he justified, them he also glorified. We must be sanctified in Christ Jesus and we are called to be saints. God is faithful. Let’s abide in our calling as prisoners of God and walk worthy of the vocation in which we are called. Saints we have a work to do, the world is dying around us; are we through neglect the cause? It’s time we get focused again. We are partakers of the heavenly calling. Jesus was faithful to his heavenly and earthly call. He was a work in progress in the beginning, now is and forever will be.

But the God of all grace who have called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus after that you have suffered a while, will make us perfect, established, strengthened, and settled. He has given to us according as his divine power have given unto us all things that pertains to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that have called us to glory and virtue. We are to give diligence to make our calling and election sure, for if we do these things we shall never fall.

I leave with you today that we are sanctified by God and preserved in Jesus Christ and called. We are a work in progress crossing over the roadblocks in our way.
