Talking with one of my sisters today, who is a trained speaker for a Christian group and often is invited to give her testimony and sometimes to sing, I was both shocked and incensed when she told me that she had received a letter from them in the recent past advising her that they were changing policy in some things so as not to be offensive to anyone. Among the changes were that their speakers were no longer to refer to Jesus as “The Savior” nor as “My Savior.” Also while they could quote Scripture, they are never to give verse and chapter so as to indentify it as the Bible.

Now, surely Jesus is not offended at this new policy, I mean He of all persons would understand the necessity to be lovingly sensitive, right? After all, He is the One that said, “If you deny me before men, I will deny you before my Father Who in Heaven.” No wait; that must be the wrong verse. Maybe it was this one: “I am the way, the truth, and the life and NO MAN COMES to the Father BUT BY ME.” Oh my, that one doesn’t work either.

Jesus, did You not ever say anything that is politically correct?

“Oh generation of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things?” “For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.”

“Woe to you, scribes, Pharisees, hypocrites! You are like whitened sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.”

You really have to understand that Jesus did not have access to Dale Carnegie’s book, "How to Win Friends and Influence People."

Oh yes, another text comes to mind, “If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto Me.”
SShhh, we really don’t want to present Jesus as a radical thinker. (I mean, who does He think He is?) No, we must present a loving and humble Jesus so that people will be able to love Him.

Has it happened that most of the Church has gotten so open minded that their brains have rolled out? It is certain that they have, in too many instances, gotten so heavenly minded that they are of no earthly good.”

We are taught in the Scriptures that Jesus is a Rock of Offence. Many of His doctrinal teachings are offensive to those who are perishing. What can be politically acceptable about telling any person, ”You are a sinner, having disobeyed the Laws of God, and you are going to Hell if you don’t repent and ask Jesus to forgive you and to come into your heart and life.” (?)
Huh? Well, Jesus said things like that!

It occurs to me that God did not go to all the trouble to come here as a man and live here under much persecution, traveling by foot preaching and being rejected by His own people, then crucified as the Man, and died as the Man, and rose from the dead so that all mankind could have salvation from the sure pits of Hell, and then expect that we would never tell people about how to stay out of Hell. In fact He said GO! TELL!

I have had the privilege of being assigned to hang out with a lot of “liberal thinkers;”
brilliant intellectuals that will twist themselves into a contortion to get around such facts taught in Scripture as hell and the blood of Jesus. The Bible says it plainly, “Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin.” The soul that sins, it shall die.” “Fear not them that can only destroy the body, rather fear Him that has the power to destroy both body and soul in Hell.” (Right out of the mouth of Jesus.)

There is a problem. The problem is that the message of salvation and the fact of hell, and blood being God’s requirement for the atonement of sin, and all that the here and hereafter entails, is not very pretty politically speaking. Of course it is not that we haven’t tried to make it a lovely thing, so we have settled on A truth. “God is Love!” Sure enough He is Love. But it is not the full truth, and if that is all we tell we will have blood on our hands, so says the Scriptures. Believing that God is Love and loving and forgiving does not address the individual requirement of confession and repentance and following Him in the things we do while we live here.

There is a Hell and people die everyday and go there because we have not carried the message of warning, “Don’t go that direction, turn in here and be saved from your sin and be baptized and follow Jesus and live in Heaven forever.”

I guess this article is not politically correct and I really don’t care, I prefer to stand with Jesus. I think that He approves completely of all that is in it.
