My head towards heaven
I now faithfully lift
For the chains that bound me
No longer exist
The chains of poverty
Have been removed
And Lord I owe it
All to you
Defeated by depression
No joyous words had I spoken
Yet my heart cried out to you---
That bond is now broken
You have carried my burdens
Free from worry Oh, how I am blessed!!!
In the tranquility of your Spirit
My soul now rests
You are the sovereign Lord
The God mighty in power
It was you who wiped away my tears
In the midnight hour
Eternal peace in your love
Lord I now find
For you have released me
From the chains that bind
