Many kinds of love exist:
A child’s love for parents,
Love deep within the soul,

The love of a woman for a man,
The love of nature and its glory,
The love a pet has for its owner,

The love of a parent for their child,
The love only a grandparent can give.
Look at the flowers in spring

As they blossom, proclaiming to the world
“Love is being born
Every moment of every day!”

Love is such a common word these days and may have lost some of its passion. People say, “I love ice cream.” Love can also be portrayed in an intimate relationship. Yet, love is so much more than this. It comes from a very deep place within us. It comes from the wisdom of nature and from being one with that wisdom.

Think of our little acts of love each day; for our children, spouse, friends and co-workers. Then think of the small things people do for us; a smile, some little task, a kind word. It can be any number of things. Many of these actions happen every day without our noticing and being mindful of them.

In nature, think of how animals care for their young. Or the loving caress of a cool breeze on a hot day; the shade a tree provides. It is as if nature cares for us, too, providing us with cool water in which to swim in the summer, and a campfire for nighttime heat. Even the calming ocean invites us to relax and meditate on its message.

Think of our friends. Just for a moment, reflect on how much we love them. Then, let them know. I have heard people say, “Oh, I don’t have to tell them because they know I love them.” Do they? Think of our pets and how much love they give us. Perhaps we can learn something from them.

Yes, love is all around us!
