The Rose of Sharon with its prickly thorns
Beckons me softly to come and adore
Adore its beauty, adore its grace
In the face of adversity we can embrace
The love of our Savior a gift from above
The fragrance of Christ and His everlasting love
He gave his all for you and me
That we may live happy and live free
A lily among thorns with the beauty of a rose
What Christ had to suffer we'll never know
We'll never know the depth of his pain
But He made it clear what we have to gain
Eternal life for you and me
That's what he bought when he died on that tree
He gave it all so we might live
And not have to suffer the fate that he did
