Psalm 119.70

Two choices

"Their heart is covered with fat, but I delight in Your law" [Psalm 119.70 NASB]

Our lives consist of many choices and the inevitable consequences based upon our decisions. Regardless of how it looks to natural man, the way of the righteous is the correct one.

Even if the self-centred individuals continue to behave with seeming immunity, their end is inevitable. The arrogant will become more and more hard-hearted the longer they afflict the righteous.

The righteous on the other hand have found their delight in God's word. Is this logical? No! Is it sensible? Definitely, not to those outside the kingdom. However, God sees and understands what and why the righteous do and He is pleased with them. Every right decision we make has a positive and life-changing effect in three dimensions - time, the kingdom of darkness, and above all, God's eternal kingdom.

What do I mean? We will most definitely reap a harvest in this life as we continue to do good, especially to those of the household of faith. Secondly, every time we decide for God we are automatically saying "No" to the opposing powers and eventually we will be walking as the Lord walked, in the opposite direction to the hordes of darkness and with a fully consecrated heart. Finally, every time we agree with God we are becoming more and more tender-hearted and incredibly sensitive to the eternal Spirit.

One man will become insensitive and the other will become co-operative. I know who I would rather be. [David McArdle]
