In the year two,oh, eleven,
I have made myself a pact.
It has been a hard decision
to befriend my sister, tact.
I'll refrain giving opinions
and shall smile, when I'm upset.
Something askew?
I must forget!

No more calling up to Heaven,
no more bribing Angels dear.
No more promises; 'I'll be good',
not the words God wants to hear.
I will throw away my suitcase,
coloured red and full of guilt.
Opps! Please excuse me,
my wine has spilled!

Future fight, facial expressions,
nasty emails once received.
Promise you I did not send one,
no, I had one sent to me!
Once received and read in horror,
hubby found me on the floor.
Two thousand ten?
I shut this door!

When the roof decides it's leaking,
after paying roofers' fee.
I shall not become irate,
Oh, dear God! Who's kidding me?
But a new year's resolution,
once accomplished is a fact.
Where is my sister, the one called tact?

When I find my eldest daughter
showing films of 'show and tell',
she reflects her time with in-laws,
while the rest of us, ah well..........
This is time I call my sister,
what's her name again? Ah, tact.
My lips are glued and that is that!

I will shake my head in wonder
when I hear of other's grief.
No, no longer will I ponder
of my faith and my belief.
While the arguments are living
in my brain, up-down, see-saw,
my lips are sealed.......
But, am I sure?
