Encouragement

We know we ought to speak of Christ,
after all, it's Christmas season.
But we prefer to speak of life,
as given to us, there's a reason,

Why we breathe air every day.
Why we learn each lesson over.
Why we dream the dreams we do.
Why we relish them with pleasure!

We know we ought to see His face,
after all, it's Christmas season.
But we prefer to speak of Grace.
A thankful heart,a sense of grievance.

Why we can't help every child,
should we work until we're broken.
Why we dream the dreams we do,
many hopes remain unspoken.

Should we deftly draw a line,
chalk in hand, love can't be measured.
Soon we find we're out of room.
So we raise our eyes to Heaven.

We know each butterfly has wings.
After all, we know the Maker.
We know as they take to the skies,
usually in early summer.

They have dreamt dreams such as we,
and they ask us to remember
why we breathe the air we breathe,
whether June or late December.
