(Ezekiel 28 vs. 12-19 Isaiah 14 vs. 12-17) Lucifer, son of the morning who was gracious; a creature of God adored with every precious stone dwelt in Eden the garden of God. This cherub was endowed by God from his creation to excel in his office and he did excel in wisdom and power serving in the very presence of God, in some exclusive predisposition. However, iniquity and perversity greatly abounded in him for he thought to exalt himself above the stars of God, to be as the Almighty God Himself and treated God with great contempt. This was fueled by his great privileges and the pride of his heart by which he profaned one- third of the host of heaven and self destruct himself and he was no more fit to abide in the garden of God. He was cast off; great was his falling with eternal consequence for him and the earth he was expelled into. He ‘fell’ into the earth and chaos was established in it and terror became the order of the day an extreme opposite of what the garden of God is. He made the world as a wilderness, and its cities he hath broken down. He goes about innovating and crusading lies, deceiving and grievously accusing whatever and whoever that is of God (John 8:44; 2 Cor. 2:11). He effectively mobilizes co-ordinates and manipulates his army (demons) to acutely oppose all that is of God. He is the object of worship in this distorted age and it is under his control (1 John 5:19); he rules and governs in the heart of all that follow in his track (Eph. 2:2). He prowls around in some kind of lion costumes seeking whom he may overwhelm or even gulp down (1 Peter 5 vs. 8), however when we resist him he runs away in terror and trembling (James 4 vs.7). He sometimes camouflages as a “do-good” (2 Cor. 11:14) but as a bird flying away from a snare we have escaped his treacherous pranks (2 Tim. 2:25) for greater is He that is us than he that is in the world (1 John 4 vs. 4) and we are more than conquerors (Rom. 8:37). At the end of time he will be thrown into the eternal unquenchable Lake of fire (Rev. 20 vs. 10)
