WE NEVER KNOW WHO GOD HAS PRAYING FOR US

I woke up the other night, with a very upset stomach. I had to get out of bed and sit straight up to get some relief. So I sat in my big comfy chair at 3 am in the morning. So quiet, I just sat there praying for God to help my tummy. As I sat there and prayed, I heard a call come across my son’s scanner. He is a volunteer firefighter.

There was a 13 month old child, who was having seizures and they had called for an ambulance. I immediately began praying for God to calm the seizures and touch the child’s body. I prayed for the parents to be calm and have wisdom to know what to do. The next thing I heard was that they were taking the child themselves to the hospital, because the ambulance was taking to long. I kept praying. Then, they must have met up with the ambulance. They came back across the radio and said that they were transporting the child.

Early that evening, we went out to dinner where my son works. A lady he works with had a baby that was 3 months premature. The baby struggled for 3 months and had just died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. It was her first baby.

That same morning, a friend of my son’s who was in his firefighting training class, had died in a car accident. He was 18 years of age. As I sat there in the quiet, I just prayed and prayed for these families. My heart was so burdened for all of them. I prayed for my own family. Then, I praised God for my many blessings.

These families will never know, that at 3 am in the morning, a complete stranger was praying for them. That God had made a way for someone to know about their needs. I do know that when life is so hard that we can not pray ourselves, God has someone in place to intercede for us. I am honored and humbled, to be able to pray for the needs of others.

If people only realize, how powerful God is and that He does use others, to pray for the needs of His people, I believe lives would be changed by the revelation of that. He is working his wonders in an unseen realm that most of us never even think of. So next time it’s so bad you can’t pray, know that God will have someone who will be interceding for you by the power of His Holy Spirit. Praise God!

1 Timothy 2:1,
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—

Great piece! Very touching. Really inspiring and encouraging. I know that whiles I'm praying for some wordly superstar out there to get saved, someone is also praying for me to keep growing in the faith. God richly bless you, Kim.
