November 19 of every year is said to be the World Child Abuse Day. But who cares all these things? November 19 is seen as any other day because nobody seems to feel that that sexual abuse against children is such a great problem.

Jesus on child abuse

Jesus has warned us all that there can be no other sin is so cruel as sexual abuse. He said, “If any of you should cause one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble and fall, it would be better for you to be thrown into the depths of the sea with a great millstone around your neck. Woe to the world because of so many scandals!”(Matthew 18: 6-7) Jesus honored purity of children very much. He said they are so pure that they always see God. But in the modern world these innocent children are torn and thrown into so many scandalous situations. They are mutilated of their personalities and are thrown into darkness in great numbers. Where to go for millstones to punish all these abusers who number in so many?

Child abuse in India

‘National study on child abuse: India2007’ states that 53.22 percent of children all over the country faced one or more forms of sexual abuse. People who have been sexually abused as children survive into adulthood and end up leading normal lives still carrying the scars of their childhood. Most of these children experience sex abuse at a very tender age of ignorance and retain indelible scars of fears in their subconscious minds.

Awareness of child abuse

It is the responsibility of each and every human being to check these child sexual abuses by creating the necessary awareness. Moral values are to be taught to the growing children and they have to be protected from falling prey to such voluptuous flesh devils.
