Many folks don’t believe in God or Satan, but you have to admit there is a lot of evil in the world. Scripture says the devil comes “to steal and to kill and to destroy (John10:10 NKJV)” – so I’d say he is busy.

Satan has snares and tricky devices - like laziness, bitterness, jealousy and deception. Wickedness and pride envelops communities where hate rules supreme – no hope or good news there.

Then there is the extreme wickedness – the mass murderers and terrorists who delight in senseless destruction and think “God” wants them to murder innocent civilians. They kill, steal and destroy.

Jesus brought “good news” of the Father’s love. He also brought liberty, healing and freedom to the captives. (Luke 4: 18 NKJV. Jesus changed everything! Is the church changing anything?

Who is doing this same work – anybody out there - suddenly it is very quiet. Any one proclaiming “deliverance to the captives…recovering of sight to the blind” and setting at liberty those who are bruised?

Is there any other gospel? Not according to Paul – just Jesus crucified to transform hearts. No once-a-weak religion of sitting in a (reeking) pew playing church. No subtle arrogance or theoretical conceit with Paul.

In America we trust theologians, medical science, our work, what we know, our positions, our accomplishments and /or what we have. On many continents all they have is God – so they trust Him.
