We love children. We provide them everything they ask for. We are very anxious to keep them happy and grow without any worry. Christ loved us very much. He wanted us to be free from all worries and lead a happy life. To make our daily lives happy and free of any anxiety, he taught us how to approach our Heavenly Father and pray. We should do the same to our children to our children to grow in the love of God and others.

Here are some tips to make them grow successfully in life.

1) Family prayer

Family prayer is the foundation and fountain of all happiness. If the family prayer is spontaneous and lively based on real life experiences, children can feel in their hearts the strength of prayer. They should realize that prayer is nothing but talking with God as our Father. All the family members should make themselves free to attend the family prayer. Family prayer should be a heart to heart experience.

2) Share life experiences

Prayer time can be shared with real life experiences what the children had that day and also can be shared with the experiences of the elders. Parents and others should correlate their life experiences with the providential guidance of God. Everything that happens in our life is providential and not accidental.

3) Share with the Word of God

A reading of the Bible or Gospel and sharing the life experiences with that guidance will teach children the meaning of prayer. Praying with scripture should be a life experience.

4) Trust in God

Children can feel the loving hands of God if they are guided to trust in Him by sharing witnessing life experiences of the elders. God is our Father who is ready to embrace us, His Children, with all love and affection. In every situation they should be reminded of this great love. Words of Jesus can strengthen children in this habit.

5) Sensate children with concrete things

Convince the children to find God in and around them. Let prayer and heavenly experience be a concrete one and not something abstract. Remember the words of Jesus, “The kingdom of heaven is here among you.” It is true that if children have this concrete experience they can surely see the Kingdom of God in their family.

6) Let them be aware that God is everywhere

If the children are convinced that their heavenly Father is guarding them always, they will not go down into bad habits. Jesus wanted to be with children. He loved them most. He rebuked his disciples who tried to stop the children from approaching Jesus.

7) Let the children enjoy the scriptures

Narrate the stories in the scriptures lively so that the children may enjoy the truths in lively dramatization.

8) Even play is a child prayer

If god is with us each and every moment, playing time also is a time of prayer. Encourage the children that God wants them to be happy. With this spiritual strength children can learn good habit and it will help them in their studies also.

9) Pray with nature

Everything found in nature is God-given. Plants, birds, insects, animals and everything are given to us to be happy. Jesus loved nature and enjoyed nature. He asks us to look at the lilies of the fields and the birds of the sky to be free and enjoy the love of God. Make the children enjoy nature and thank God.

10) Bedtime prayer

Dawn and dusk are God’s wonders to make us live healthily. Everyday getting up from the bed is a happy experience with the loving touch of God. Looking at the rising sun and listening to the chirping birds, the children can begin a pleasant day. When they go to bed, remind them God is with them, holding them in his hands.
