Make a joyful noise to the Lord all you people
How great is our Lord
How great are the works of His hand
Your greatness is displayed in the mighty oak
Your wisdom in the simple leaf

They come to life by the warmth of your Breath each spring
They flourish in the summer with many shades of green
In the fall the green fades and even as the leaf withers
The hidden colors burst forth in brilliant glory
In the winter it stands as if dead
But You have hidden life in the roots sleeping beneath the ground
Ready to burst forth at Your command

We discover the process and we name it
But how pale is our understanding…how shallow our knowledge
For who among us can duplicate the wonder
Of even a single blade of grass
We take the wood of the tree and with our skill
Create structures pleasing to the eye and shelter for the body
But who among us can duplicate even a single leaf
Even the lowliest plant
Taking the toxic breath we cast away
Purifies it and gives it back again

How great is Your splendor O Lord
You create life-giving water for all who
Dwell upon the earth
The deep blue lakes teeming with life
The crystal clear streams flowing down
From snow-capped mountains of brown and red
And hills of green, yellow and purple
We in our skill harness the water
And conquer the mountains
But who among us can create a single hill
Or cause a single stream to flow
How great You are O Lord

We stand upon Your mountain
And You show us still other mountains on other worlds
Shadows of the distant places of the moon
I look upon Lyra shining in the night sky
And I see Your face
I look upon the Ring Nebula
And I perceive Your greatness
Your great generosity that have given my eyes
The chance to look upon the edges of creation
Worlds and beauty that few eyes will see
And I fall to my knees and worship You

Who am I that You should show me such kindness
That You would put me in a spacious place
And allow me to see distant wonders

I will tell of Your kindness
I will shout with all creation of Your graciousness
I will sing with the trees of Your love
I will dance with the stars before your throne
I will worship You with all my heart
Because in love You have created all I see
