For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which you have toward all the saints, don ' t cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him; having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come. He put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things for the assembly, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
Ephesians 1:15-23

The greatest prayer we can pray for brother or neighbor is that we may know Christ better and that our eyes would be open to all He has made available to us. Paul speaks about three things in particular: Hope, Riches and Power.

He prays that we may know the hope to which we have been called. As the world crumbles around us and adversity presses us on all sides...we have a hope that shines brighter than the stars.

He prays that we might have the riches of the glory of His inheritance. We belong to the King. We are not hapless wanderers on a barren wasteland. We are royalty on a holy mission for our Father. And we have at our disposal all the riches necessary to carry out that mission. No heavenly expense has been spared.

He prays that we might know the greatness of the power of Christ. The same power that was exhibited when Jesus was raised from the dead is available to us now. We are not to timidly walk through this world, peeking around corners, hoping we survive another day. We walk boldly through the land with the power to storm the gates of hell and set the captives free. The creator Himself has placed this power in our hands.

All that is left for us to do is to choose. Will we believe the Enemy who says it is hopeless to try to save a world as far gone as this one. Or do we believe Christ who has given us all hope, riches and power. The same Christ in whom we can do all things...
“the fullness of Him who fills all in all.”
