I looked and saw you on that cross.
As man, you chose to pay the cost.
As God, you could have saved yourself.
But, as man, you died on my behalf.

I watched and saw them pierce your side.
Out flowed your water, your blood, your life.
As God, you could have struck them dead.
But, as man, you chose to forgive them instead.

I listened and heard the angels cry
As Jesus, you gave up your sweet life.
As God, you could have walked a way.
But as man, my Lord, you chose to stay.

I knelt and felt the earth did quake.
The sun was hidden, my heart did break.
As God, you could have destroyed the world.
But as man, you chose to heal my soul.

I listened and heard the angels shout.
As Jesus began to walk about..
As God, you did what you said you would.
As man, my Jesus, only you could.
