WHY WOULD GOD?

Why would God reach out to man,
In loving kindness extend a hand?
Why would God, to save our soul,
Give His dear Son to make us whole?
Why would God, whose heart was right,
Take on our sin, our shame, our blight?
Why would God, whose word was true,
Love such people like me and you?
Why would God, I have to ask,
Take time to look behind the mask?
Why would God send Him to die,
Yet turn His back when Jesus cried?
And after all that, God still wasn’t done,
He restored to life His only Son.
A four-lettered word gives us the why,
Why Jesus was born, and lived and died.
Why would God reach down from above?
The answer is simple, He did it for Love.
