Encouragement

I love to read. Not just anything. I love to read about the Lord. Anything that will help me draw closer to Him or understand the Bible better, that is what I love. Devotionals or Encouragement articles are a part of my daily routine. The Bible comes first, of course. When I read them, my heart and soul are wrapped up in the meaning of what I am reading and I try my best to soak it up, so that it will stay with me, making me a better person, but most of all, helping me to be more for my Lord and Savior.

As I write my stories or my devotionals, my hope is people will get that out of my writings also. I look at stories and I know, that punctuation and the way we word things are very important. I wish I was better with that. I’m not, but I keep on writing. I could be very intimidated by the higher educated writers, but I have decided that their stories and my stories all have the same importance, if they are about the Lord.

I’m not a highly educated lady. I went through high school and had one class at a community college. Word, Power Point and Excel! I did that on complete faith, trusting in God as a wife and mother of 2 and having been out of the school environment for a long time. They say you have to put action behind your faith. You can have all the faith in the world for a better job, but you have to go put in resumes if you want people to know who you are. So I did.

God blessed me with my job at the Courthouse. My worse class was math in school and I passed with a D. Today, I am able to balance our full days work, post to our General Ledger and keep up with our check book for the office. If you knew me, there would be a great big WOW, right there. God boosted my confidence when He gave me this job. I am so blessed. That same kind of confidence is what He has given me to write my stories.

God speaks to us through His people. Through singing, teaching, preaching, writing or just helping someone physically by doing something they might not be able to do. Being God’s arm extended to someone in need. I love to tell stories! Is it one of my gifts? To be honest, I don’t know if it is a God called gift, but I know that many times, it just flows out of me and I can write and write. My mother who is a very Godly woman, tells me that is how the Holy Spirit works. So I go with.

Just as I was awful in math, my grammar, is not much better. I believe that God can take my writings and touch a heart. Even if the spelling and punctuation is not always accurate, I know what He lays on my heart to write, is important and He can use me. Please don’t get me wrong. I wish I had the education of a wonderful writer, who uses the beautiful words to describe what they are telling, I really do. I do not though, but if God can take someone who can’t do math and teach me to help run a very important office, then He can use my writings.

We all have stories, each our own. I am using the same faith that I went back to school with, that I am using to write my stories. There is always someone who can relate to what we have to say. I hope with this writing that I am encouraging someone else to keep going, just as I am encouraging myself. I have decided that if these writings do nothing else in life, they will hopefully be a blessing to my children and grandchildren someday. My heart is to tell about Jesus! His love, faithfulness, provision, protection and His almighty, majestic, awesome power, that He can use us all. Even me! You see, my writings are important! Especially in God’s eyes!

Through Him also I have access by faith into this grace in which I stand. And I rejoice and exult in my hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God. Romans 5:2

Faith, if it does not have works, by itself is destitute of power. James 2:17
