Eagle in flight folds back his wings,
   daring gravity to throw him to the earth.
Much more perverse is You leaving
   Your rightful place upon Your throne.

As the Life You know Yourself,
   You're not threatened by dangerous death.
Unlike the eagle Your wings remain stilled,
  in joy You collide with prophecy.

As the Truth, not denying itself,
   You arise, as You should.
Death, gravity, and the womb of the earth,
   are shamed to release You.

As the Way You name Your choices
   made from the earth's founding.
My name was called
   and I must be at Your feet.

Constantly I fall away,
   faithfully You find me again.
All You give
   far better than I can muster.

I the ember, on my candle here,
   threatened before Your beautiful breath.
My fears are found unwarranted
   as You breathe on me, renewing my life.
 
Mysteries are made known to me.
I am wiser than the ancients.
This earthen vessel
   holds priceless treasures.
 
Soon You'll call and I must heed,
  even to the stopping of my heart.
I will know everything as I gaze upon You
  to realize the meaning of eternal joy.
