Most sports are team sports. Volleyball, baseball, hockey and certainly football are team sport. These teams rely on their team mates to help accomplish the goal that is before them. In foot ball the short term goal is to make more touchdowns than the opposing team.
The long term goal is to win the “SUPERBOWL”. In football each team has 11 players. Each player has their own job that helps the team as a whole. For instance, the quarterback makes the decisions on the field on who he’ll pass or hand off the ball too. But if his ends or half-backs are not doing their job by being in a position to receive the ball, then the quarterback will have a much more difficult time trying to complete his task. Or if the linesmen are not blocking correctly then it will be difficult to move the ball forward to the goal line. Each player has a gift or talent to do their job and they are obligated to do their job and do it well.

In this life it is the same for us. God has given us gifts and talents and He expects us to learn to do them well. When all of us Christians do the work He gave us to do, we then become a team that cannot be stopped. When we do our work well, we help others do their work well. God wants us to a team that works easily together.
We should think of our team like a tractor. When a tractor is in pieces it cannot do the work it should do. When each piece is separate from the others, it is ineffective. When the pieces are all together then it will farm the land for years to come. Each piece does it part and helps other pieces do their part. The tractor can’t run without tires. Or you can have tires and no engine. Or you can have both the tires and engine but no steering wheel. They all help make the tractor do its work. So we as Christian help other Christians do their work.

Always remember, Jesus had a team called disciples. If Jesus needed to be part of a team, what makes us think we don’t need to be?
