Poetry
Our heart weeps
The rain sings it’s
Song of lament with us
How could someone
We love be gone
So soon?
Our thoughts become
Confused and we walk
As if we are in a daze
How could this be?
How are we to have
Any understanding or relief?
Life constantly changing
Dying and new birth
Loss and new hope
The sadness seems unbearable
The loneliness and fear
Overwhelms and stops our world
Where do we go?
Who do we turn to?
Where do we find peace?
Reflection
Loss of someone we love touches our deepest self. It causes us to look at our own life and realize that every thing in life changes. We have to look at our own immortality. It an be frightening and leave us feeling lose and alone. Our sadness can drastically reduce our energy and it seems nothing or no one ca ease our pain.
Even thought we have to experience the grief process there are some things we can do to try and make it bearable. We can reflect on the people we have in our lives and how much we appreciate them. This might be a good time to let them know.
We can take a lesson from nature and notice how even though the trees are barren in the winter when the cold weather comes, in the spring new life appears. Even the changing from night to day reminds us that the darkness isn’t forever.
We can reach out to people who can support us and let them know our feelings. We can turn to our spiritual beliefs which may bring comfort. We can also go to a place where we can find inner peace within ourself. This could be through prayer, mediatation, music, art, dance, writing, any number of things.
Most of all we can remember that these feelings aren’t forever. There sill be a spring, there will be new birth, there will be light after the darkness.
There is a seed
deep within us
waiting to be born
Then one day our
tears flow as they
water the seed
The water brings
insight and new
growth begins
The water brings
roots that become
stronger each day
Then one day a
glorious bud appears
waiting for it's appearance
We begin to see the
reason for the tears
and see our goodness
Then the day comes!!
The bud blossoms and
we see the beauty that is within!
We now can bring the
love and wisdom of God
We now can help others
We can let them know
that tears can bring
new birth and a strength beyond compare
