One day the shepherd boy David was sent to his brothers in Israel’s army. There he heard Goliath defy the soldiers of Jehovah – the men were terrified, but David was stirred.

At times in our lives we all have incidents that challenge us, our beliefs or our training. We face circumstances that test our metal – who are we, a complainer or a believer?

Our “Goliath” may be issues, fears or obsessions relating to relationships, our health or the economy. What problem stirs you and the people in your life?

The warriors of Israel focused on Goliath, they couldn’t get past his size and strength. David focused on Yahweh – His honor and His promises.

In a crisis where do you look – at the overwhelming problem or at Almighty God and His revealed will? How much do you rely on the doubt of your peers?

David’s God was bigger than any giant and Jehovah didn’t like Goliath taunting Israel. David was the winner because he concentrated on God and not on the problem

What about us – where will we look when the crisis comes? Will we focus on scripture and God’s power and promises, or will we see the giants?

David is famous because he ignored the giant and focused on Jehovah. We, too, can look to the Almighty and be victorious in the crisis of life.
