FROM SIN TO GLORY

The temptations of the world are surrounding
Drugs are knocking at the door
Alcohol is seeping under the cracks
The pressures are cracking the walls
Evil is lurking around you
It’s so easy to give up and give in
Knowing you will be miserable
Filling your life up with sin
Finding day to day excuses
About why you just cant get things right
Blaming your friends and your family
How life’s treated you so unkind
Hiding from all your emotions
Secluding yourself from God
What a miserable life you portray
Your head is caught in a fog
But then one day he comes to you
In the form of a stranger or friend
Your not really quite sure why
But you have a need to let him in
At first church seems silly
But you want what everyone’s got
Peace, love, hope and unity
A dedication to the Divine
But could you really have these things?
Would God give you joy in your heart?
Could you finally escape the misery?
That has been ripping your soul apart?
What left do you have to lose?
Everything else doesn’t seem to work
You take a deep breath and surrender
A broken body falls to the floor
You give it to God and you make changes
Your baptized and you’ve washed all your sins
The Holy Ghost comes upon you
And now you have a forever friend

The circumstances that surround you
They have all began to change
You let go of the old and let in the new
Your whole life has been rearranged
People say there’s something different about you
They see the glow upon your face
You can’t wait to tell them the good news
How your old life has been erased
Now I have the joy of the Lord
My name is written in his book
I no longer will die but live eternally
For I am saved by grace
I no longer need the world
I’ve found my place with him
The misery is gone and I have changed
From sin to glory
