When the times become dreadful, fearful, and mean
When doubts are plenty and hopes are lean
With all my strength, your stalwart I shall be
Loving you as He has loved me

When tragedy strikes, and sorrows appear
When the tears flow, and the anguish sears
My comforting arms open wide for thee
Loving you as He has loved me

If your days are weary and your body is frail
If your will is weak, and your heart shall fail
These arms shall carry you through gracefully
Loving you as He has loved me

Should you not be yourself, through strain or worry
Should you mistreat me in vain, in stress or agony
I will understand and forgive patiently
Loving you as He has loved me

When your days be filled with joy and harmony
When your heart is euphoric, cheerful, and free
I will rejoice, in bliss and ecstasy
Loving you as He has loved me

Should temptation arise, and foreign flesh appear
Should liasons offer themselves, alluring and fierce
Resist I will, true and faithfully
Loving you as He has loved me

No matter the hardships, contentions, or distress
No matter the struggle that situations present
You my precious, I shall never forsake or leave
Loving you as He has loved me

For when hazards are real and danger is true
For if peril is drawing ever so near to you
My life I shall give, for yours wilfully
Loving you as He has loved me
