There are two teams in this game, coming from opposite ends of the field and opposite beliefs. Each Coach tries to get people to buy into their philosophy.

The devil says one must have money, positions, power, fame and control to be happy – life centers around self to be victorious.

God says one must surrender, share, forgive and become like Christ to be happy – life centers around service to be victorious.

Each leader says they are right and their methods will lead to happiness and victory – each is constantly sending in plays.

So for every player, life is a constant choice, who to believe, which goal line to head towards – which viewpoint will bring success.

Which direction one goes and how they spend their time and energy depend on which Coach they belief and how they define victory.

The skills that bring success to one team are a hindrance to the other, so the mindset must be changed completely when one changes sides.

Funny thing is, one can get way downfield in positions, control, money or gratifying self, only to fumble and end up losing the game.

Conversely, one can surrender, share and forgive - which appears to be a recipe for loss - only to realize they have handily won the game.
