Hope


When times are hard we need

To know there is hope

That there is light within the dark

Let me be mindful of

all the hope which is

in front of me today

Let my eyes,

ears ,and heart be open

to all the opportunities

to see and to also

give hope to others

Yes, hope is here, today!




Reflection

We all need hope. Especially if we are having a difficult time and don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. It is hard to hope if we are feeling sad or overwhelmed. We can become so focused on our feelings and the pain that hope almost seems impossible. Today I ask you to open your eyes, ears and heart. There are some very simple yet profound ways to see hope

It is always amazing to me how each day goes from night to day. The slow progression from sleep to being awake. I emphasize being AWAKE! Each day has new hope, new possibilities. Yesterday we may have made mistakes, but today we have a whole new day to start over again. We can try and not make the same mistakes. It is a new beginning! Can you see today with this perspevtive? When you wake up slowly opening your eyes and realize the gift you have been given today! Another chance to live! Another chance to show people we love them. Just as we talked about yesterday.

Have we noticed the hope a baby brings. New birth! A new little life in the world! Just waiting for love and to be taken care of. They have a fresh beginning. A whole new book of life to be lived! They remind us of what hope can be.

There is also hope to be found in some literature and poems. Perhaps there is a poem, prayer, or song that reminds us of hope. If we don’t know one maybe today we can do a little research and find something that touches our heart and gives us hope.

After we start our day with hope think about bringing hope to others. Maybe by an encouraging word, teaching a skill, or helping someone reach their potential. Perhaps someone in your family needing to hear a word of hope.
