Joy




I feel the joy around me

Calling me into the dance

Circling twirling laughing

Flowers with their colorful voice

The birds joining in softly

The sun adds the sound of trumpets

The trees add there sturdy bass

Dancing with nature and love

Come join in the dance!







Reflection


Joy is all around; if we are open and mindful of natures sounds and sights we see every day. Sometimes we are so busy we forget to look at the clouds or hear the birds singing. Even in the winter the trees have something to say.
They may look barren, but have you ever noticed their beautiful shape and how their bareness has a beauty of their own.

The people we see daily can also give us joy. For example when someone smiles at us. It seems like such a simple gesture, yet they appear glad to see us, and are making an effort to let us know. What about the laugh of children or a baby. The love of a dog or puppy. If we stop to think about it joy can be heard and seen without much effort.


Why is it important to be joyful? It can help us feel our inner strength and peace. It helps us to be caring and thoughtful. People enjoy others who are positive. It’s human nature. However, the main reason is that is helps us feel good about our self and other people. It is much easier to be positive when we are joyful. It is easier to handle the challenges we go through each day by making an effort to see the joy around us.
