“With Peter’s Eyes”
Be Blessed Dear Friend,
“With Peter’s Eyes”
Hmm…without a doubt my favorite Disciple from the Bible is Peter. My “Rough Diamond”. Good solid fisherman. Peter’s behavior through out in the Bible has thought me so much. He had (have) such a big heart for the Lord. I often just could picture him when he was speaking to our Awesome Lord. In good times and in bad times… Being good times or bad times within our lives, our eyes will always reflect/mirror the state of our hearts.
A beautiful little piece I read the other day from a book which I will share with you at the end of the story. This little chapter really got me going (God perhaps wanted me to read it since He Knows how much I like Peter) and this story has born with it.
“With Peter’s Eyes”
How did this man felt at that predawn morning when the rooster has crowed. His loyalty towards Christ was….distant. His faith…lug warm. And in the moment of truth, while Jesus was taken from His interrogation, His Eyes where looking for one person. He Was looking for Peter’s eyes. God Knew where to look and even Him being beaten on His Beautiful Face, His Eyes Has Found Peter. And Peter looked back. But Peter’s eyes have revealed his own brokenness, his coward act, his zero self worthiness. He let God down on that early morning. Down.
And perhaps we have all done that as well before, not just Peter. But when we did or when we doing that, I remind my self about one thing...and that is looking through “with Peter’s eyes” into my Lord’s Eyes. And He Will Say still….”My Boy, it’s all forgiven. Move on!”
God Bless,
George.
PS: Above story was inspired and born from the book called “He Still Moves Stones” by Max Lucado.
