Through Out The Generations
No Man Left Behind

We are living in a generation where men, the father has been banished from the home. Never in the world have man lacked authority in the home. They have banished themselves from the home for decades now. As long as men are not fathers in the home and not take their authority back,the home will remain in chaos. Fathers will stay ostracized being continually expelled from what God has called them to. Fathers of two generations ago took their role in the family serious. In this time they carried afflictions and sorrows that ailed the family. They are infidels that deny a life of Christ. They believe not in the very God that has called them to fatherhood. In prior generations men had a respect that they have lost over the years. They also respected God. Because of the respect man has lost for God they are reaping that same lost of the family.

The father is the immediate male progenitor of a person or grandfather or a more remote ancestor. The ancestor or one of the heads of the inhabitants of a village town or city or the founder of a trade. Father is a title of respect and honor bestowed upon an authorized teacher especially when aged, or upon royal advisors and prime ministers. He is also one who acts toward another with fatherly kindness and wisdom. He also acts in the stead of God as the begetter and loving guardian of his loving children.

Even when God created the world he had a plan for man. He created a man that would be a father of all generations. Adam means man, the earthborn one of mankind, the first father of the human race. Adam was a man created in the image of God to rule under God, over the rest of the created world. The gift of a blessed immortality was within his reach, that his moral development could come only through trial and that the presence of suffering in the world is due to sin and the presence of sin due to the work of the tempter.

What’s within our reach today? What are we willing to suffer to make our spiritual and human families better? God had a plan for man that wasn’t far fetched. His only order was to obey and not eat of the tree in the midst of the garden. What kind of obedience to the Father God are fathers submitting to today? What do they surround themselves with? How does men see themselves? What kind of legacy are they leaving this generation and the generation to come? Do fathers realize that they should be building an army for God that their family will not be left without a savior.

I Chronicles the 7-10 chapters shows us a family that had order after our first father failed the test of obedience. Issachar was the ninth son of Jacob and the fifth son of Leah. Issachar sons were Tola, Purvah, Job, and Shimron. They accompanied their father and went with Jacob their grandfather into Egypt. In the blessing of Jacob the tribe of Issachar is pictured as a people who submitted to the burdens imposed on them by foreign masters, provided they leave them in their own peasant land and surroundings. Issachar’s descendants developed into a powerful tribe numbering 54,400 fighting men and when David reigned their army reached 87,000. They were valiant mighty men of valor. Tola grew into a fine man as Issachar was and he founded the Tola-ites. He was also one that was a judge and followed in his father’s footsteps in organizing an army of valiant men. He had sons that he taught and they also were valiant men. His brother Uzzi’s sons were all chief men, bands of soldiers for war; also mighty men of valor. They were heads of the house of their fathers for generations.

If we read through the genealogy of Jacob and his sons we will find that the generations in the family did not die. Nor did they disconnect but stood together to formulate protection for their families. They had family over the business of the house. They kept the gates, approving who was to come into the house. The house of God was taken care of in the same manner with much diligence. As a father, all is not always well but he must deal with those things as men of integrity fearing God. Levi the third son of Jacob and Leah, joined his brother Simeon in massacring Hamor, Shechem, and the men of their city in revenge for the injury done by Shechem to their sister Dinah. Jacob as a father had to reprimand them with chastisement for their actions in Genesis 49:7; cursed be their anger for it was fierce, and their wrath for it was cruel. I will divide them in Jacob and scatter them in Israel. We have to deal with dissention accordingly. They were given instruments of cruelty that would be in their habitations; for they had a secret that in their anger they slew a man and in their self will they dug down a wall.

Levi had three sons; Gershon, Kohath, and Merari each of whom founded a tribal family. The priest came of certain families of the tribe of Levi, and the remaining families came and di the service to the tabernacle and the temple. The duties of the priest were many. In relation of a priest and a father they both have to keep the house. Both brings their children to the altar. The priests goes to God on behalf of the parishioner, the father in the home for his family. Most churches have a Pastor, Elder or Reverend that heads up their local body. They act in the role of the Father that leads the sheep, shepherds them and feed them of the Word of God. They offer up prayer for them and bring them to the altar. They remind the children of God that God accepts them as believers and call them sons and children. The Levites had a Levitical charge . I Chronicles 9:27. They were lodged round about the house of God because of the charge that was upon them. They were to open the doors every morning. Some had the charge to bring in the ministering vessels and take them out again. Some was appointed to oversee the vessels and all of the instruments of the sanctuary. Some of the sons of the priests made ointment and spices. Te natural head of a body of people acted as priests. They accepted responsibility for what needed to be done. Mattithiah was the one that had the set office or trust over the things that were made. The sons of Kohath was over the shew bread to prepare it every Sabbath. Then there were the singers that was sold out to the cause of singing day and night. Although they were employed with a responsibility to remain in the chamber they were free to choose. Everybody had a part to do and it was expected of them to carry out their duties without complaint; but a regularly organized people with functions that were exercised. The priest was the one who performed the sacred rites and intervened between the worshippers and their God.

Duties of the priests as is the father today is many. Just as a priest or Pastor is the father of the church the father is one that keeps his house, brings his family to the altar of prayer at home, takes the family to church and not send them or drop them off and he takes them to the altar for prayer. It is the father that makes sacrifices in the care of the home. He acts ads the judge in the home to squash the family arguments. He organizes and gives directions for the family and encourages them in doing what they are expected to do and follow. The father has been anointed to preserve the integrity of the family. He chastises when he have to and love them in the chastisement. He is a provider of good things for his family. He keeps them with food, clothing, and shelter as he has a responsibility to meet the need of his family. Every man is to know their place in the earth to meet their natural and spiritual expectations of God the Father.

Through out the generation of Jacob there was not one man left behind. We need an army of valiant men that will stand up and be men. Men today hardly meet the needs of their children. They do not provide the basic necessities of food, clothing, and shelter. What can be traced back to your name man? Or what can be traced back to your family? Our genealogy is the tracing of the descent of our family from an ancestor, enumeration of ancestors and their children in the natural order of succession. What can be said of what is recorded of you from the beginning of your life naturally and spiritually? Man produces what he is according to their last name. How many men reproduce and actually take responsibility for their children? The children are of their loins but they act like they never provided the seed needed for them to be formed. Deuteronomy 5:29; O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them and their children forever. When we forsake to do (as parents) all that God has called us to, we forsake the problems as well.

Fathers, men are treasures to the Lord. He has hid his wisdom in the bosom of men. Matthew 12:35, a good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things. Anything other than good is evil. The treasure hid in them is to be desired by their family. This treasure should bring about fear in the children as it does to the Lord. A father should bring his offspring into the tribe of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only truth that they are to know. Fathers are to teach their children to walk before God in truth, speak the truth, to live in peace, have mercy and forsake wrath. Children must be taught to keep the commandments of God. Fathers root in their children the pillar and ground of the truth. Fathers teach their children to work with their hands and minds. He mourns for his children. A wise son makes his father glad and a father spares his children pain and grief in their lives.

When fathers will stand up and be the example of God he teaches his children to war the battles of life. He sets a pattern; and act worthy of imitation. A perfect heart is what we work on in this life. I Timothy 4:12, let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word , in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, and in purity. In all things men must show themselves to be examples having a pattern laid out for their children to follow; and not only that but they must be taught gravity and sincerity. They are sound in speech that cannot be condemned, that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you. Endurance is a value taught that will bring forth joy when patience is exercised. Lastly a father is very pitiful and of tender mercy.

Fathers are examples that should not be ignored. Matthew 5:48; be ye therefore perfect; even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Luke 6:36, be ye therefore merciful as your Father also is merciful. We are to forebear one another and forgive and follow to know our Father in heaven.
