What Have You Charged Him With?

Read Job 1:13-22
(Job 1:22) In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.

At lot of us tend to deal with God the same way that we deal with each other. It seems that as long as we are getting what we want from each other and we are all agreeing with each other then every one is happy. The second things are no longer going the way we want them to, or we come up against any opposition, we tend to get angry, or upset, some of us even throw tempertantrums when we cannot get our way. (I'm gulity of a few of those in the past week alone.) The same is true for our relationship with God. Its so easy for us to praise God and witness to others about Him when things are going great in our lives. But the second we face trials and tests all of our proclimations to "Praise Him any how" goes right out the window.

Job is the best example of a "no matter what" faith in God. Job was rich and blessed beyond measure and God used him as an example to show the enemy that Jobs faith was unwaivering and not because of the things that He had blessed him with, or his stature/status. God tested Job and used him as an example of what it looks like to have a heart to serve the Lord and keep Him first in every thing NO MATTER WHAT. Through the loss of all of his children, he still praised God and was thankful. Through the loss of all of his live stock and essentially is livelihood he still praised God and was thankful. When every one of his friends even his own wife spoke against God because of what He allowed to happen to Job, he still praised God and was thankful. Not once did he CHOOSE to get angry because of His circumstance, and blame God. But he kept His mind on how great God is to have even blessed Him in the first place. He remained humble and instead of asking "Lord why me?!?" He realized "why not me?".

What charges have you brought against our God? Past, Present, or Future....have you chosen to look at the the situation instead of keeping your eyes on God? Have you chosen to get angry and sulk and feel sorry for yourself instead of being thankful for what He's already done for you? God is God and it is just that simple. He never has to do anything else to show us how worthy, powerful, gracious, and Holy He is.

Job said in 23:10 "When He has tested me I shall come forth as gold." The next time you face tests and trials make up your mind to pass because the second that you choose to get angry and feel sorry for yourself you fail. God wants to give us our hearts desire but only when what our hearts desire is only to serve and please Him first. What ever you want more than you want to please the Lord you will never get. Job had a made up mind to serve the Lord at all costs even if it meant that he had to lose and let go of every thing else. Are you willing to allow God to streatch you beyond what your fleshly streangth can fathom? Are you willing to let go of you to gain more of Him and most important are you willing to accept what God allows with out charging Him with wrong doing? As I always say all he wants from us is the "willingness" He will make us able but only when we come to Him w/willing hearts and broken flesh.

God Bless You Guys,

Nicole L. Waller

This was well written and thought out. We are quick to claim God when everthing is going well. I am sorry to say too often I have been just a quick to blame God when He does not do what I want. Reguardless of our feeling He deserve praise.
