Faith
Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. (1 John 1:5)
God completed the book and the instructions are very clear to those who seek to get wisdom and understand what choosing a life for Christ truly means. Every person has a choice—for "life and good" or "death and evil." What have you chosen? Have you chosen to accept Christ as Savior? To make him the guard and guide of your life?
If making it to heaven is the ultimate goal of our life’s journey Jesus is the absolute 100% only way that we can reach that goal. (John 14:16) Jesus makes it plain that He alone is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE. He makes it a point to say that “NO MAN can COMETH UNTO THE FATHER BUT BY ME”.
God in His omnipotence knew what kind of people He was dealing with, after all He alone created the heavens and the earth and every thing dwelling in them. He knew from the beginning of time how this thing was going to play out. Jesus (The Word) was with God in the beginning (John 1:1), and at the appointed time Jesus (The Word) became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:14). God’s desire has always been for us to ultimately live in eternity with Him. Every thing the enemy attempted to use to keep us down, broken and deserted God provided a way out of. Not because we are so deserving but because He loves us that much.
Everything that has been done since the beginning of the world has been for our benefit and for us to succeed. Every trial He promised to turn it around and use it for our good. Even the mess that we create on our own with out seeking Him first. We do not serve a God of misses and failures. Our God is not a loser not to this world and not even to death and the grave. Through out the bible He has shown us examples of not only His love, His grace, His mercy, and His Passion towards us. But also, His vengeance, His judgment, and His wrath on them that choose not to believe.
The book of Revelation not only clearly out lines what the end times will be it gives in depth details of what is going to happen to those who choose not to believe. We are truly living in the age of grace where God is allowing us time to “get it right”. Every time we falter and fail we have the chance to repent and start over. But how many of us use this as an excuse every single day to do the wrong thing? Because we know oh well I’ll just pray about it later and I will be forgiven? (I have my hand up!) We do what works for us and what makes us feel good and fulfilled forgetting the commandments that God gave Moses and the commandments that Jesus taught His disciples. We often pray for forgiveness with deceit in our hearts knowing that if/when the opportunity presents it’s self again we will, take a drink, smoke a joint, have pre-marital and even extra-marital sex, use harsh words towards our children, disobey our superiors at work, mismanage our money, and any other of the ten commandments that we break on a daily basis. We do so with the idea in mind that we have time before Jesus comes back to fix it but TIME IS RUNNING OUT!
When the age of Grace has ended, a side of God that we never want to talk about (when it comes to his children) will be revealed. We like to hear how God will show vengeance on our enemies, and He’ll fight our battles and woe unto the non believers but, far worse will it be for us wishy washy Christians should we still be walking the earth when the time of tribulation has come. There will be no more time to “make up your mind” about what God is telling you to do or not do. There will be no opportunity to play games saying one thing and doing another. Woe to us who plead the blood of Jesus but continue to walk, and live, and lay down, in the council of the ungodly. Woe to us to call him Father yet by our works and our deceiving hearts He does not recognize us.
God gave us life abundant in the Garden, we were not satisfied. We messed up, He was merciful and just. He gave us the Law and we broke it repeatedly and in turn broke His heart, yet He still only loved us and wanted us to succeed. The enemy ran rampant and we fell for his tricks and temptations. God stayed focused on His goal to ultimately have us live in eternity with Him. He looks down from heaven and sees every fault every failure every blemish every stain and instead of being disgusted and giving up He sent us the Lamb of the Ultimate Sacrifice.
He used Jesus as an example for the world to see what it means to be faultless and sinless, and give yourself up to save others. He was wounded because we messed up. He was wounded because we are weak. He was wounded because we chose not to turn away and kept on sinning. He was wounded because we were not able. He was bruised because we are full of lust and jealousy. He was bruised because we commit murder, and molest children. He was bruised because we are greedy, and self-fulfilling. He was bruised because we like to get drunk and pass out, because we have addictive personalities and behaviors. We did it all and He was chastised to bring us peace and healing by His stripes (Isa. 53:5) No matter how lewd, lascivious and heinous the acts we commit we are always forgiven yet we harbor hate, anger and resentment towards one another.
The instructions are very clear and the time is NOW for us to make a diligent and valiant effort to give up living with one foot in heaven and the other one in hell. He did not tell us the when, but He gave us clear instructions on how to live until the time has come, pointed out the things that we would see when the time was near, and told us exactly how this story is going to end. No….this definitely AIN’T NO CLIFF HANGER!
I pray these words will help us all to witness to the lost souls that they will come to accept Jesus as their personal savior and begin to live a life that reflects Him living on the inside. I pray that your daily walk and talk is the best sermon you ever could preach!
