A Tribute to Mothers
What Mom’s do:
Mom’s do many things for their children, but I think that leading their children to Christ is the most important thing a mom can do for her children.
2 Timothy 1:15 Mothers pass the faith onto their children. Timothy’s grandmother passed the faith on to her daughter Eunice, and she passed it on to Timothy. The greatest act of a Mother’s life is to know that she has so lived her life for Christ so that her children take the faith for themselves and accept Christ for themselves as their Savior.
I remember when Cozette and I were kids, we both loved chicken pot pies, but neither of us liked the inside, we just liked the crust, so mom would take her pot pie and give us the crust, then she would take the inside for herself. She sacrificed what she would probably have enjoyed having for us.
Mom prayed for us, I heard her. Mom listened to the Christian programs on the radio, she loved them. Mom told me about when she became a Christian. Mom attended the Saturday night “Youth for Christ” meetings at Moody Memorial Church in Chicago when she was in her twenties. One night they gave the invitation to receive Christ and mom raised her hand.
Mom believed it was more important to care for her husband and children and spent her time laboring over a hot stove preparing meals every day. Mom baked her own pies, chicken, spaghetti, etc. Mom walked us to school and back home every day. One Christmas Mom bought a big baby doll for each of us, she had a red and white dress with red hair. That doll was my favorite for a long time.
In my teen year's Mom and I became friends and confidants. I learned not to follow the crowd from mom. We became a team working together to make things work smoothly when dad ran off with a teenage girl.
In her senior years, mom became ill. I cared for mom, and spent all my time with her until her death on March 14, 2008. God did many wonderful miracles for mom prior to her death. This is how God received all the glory when he did miracles for mom, which showed the Doctors and nurses that he reigns and can do anything.
I miss mom, she was my best friend. She is with Jesus now and either when the rapture takes place or Jesus takes me to be with him, I will see Jesus and be reunited with mom. I am looking forward to that day.
I will see you in heaven someday mom, today is Mother's day, and I prayed that God will tell you how much I love and miss you mom. I think you pray for me and look down with love on me. Love you always mom. Zorrine

How should we treat Mom?
Love her today, If you love her now, later when/if she passes from this life before you do, you won’t have any regrets that you did not spend time loving her.
Matthew 19:19a- Honor her
Psalm 35:14- The psalmist mourns as if for his mother-he is speaking of his sadness of course, but when we lose mom don’t we mourn for her? Yes!

A word for those who aren’t mothers yet or may never have been, God has not forgotten you [ me]:
Psalm 113:9-He maketh the barren woman to keep house and to be a joyful mother of children, praise ye the LORD.
Isaiah 54:1-Sing, o barren thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.-Galatians 4:27 cross reference.
A Poem for you mom

Though I cannot bring you flowers mom
or kiss your aged hand,
I know you are in heaven in God's grand stand
still watching over me with love,
until that day,
when you and I shall meet again
I cannot tell you daily how much you mean to me,
as I did when you were right here beside me,
but I can still ask God to tell you
how much I miss,
your loving looks and kindness
and that will have to do until we meet again
on the streets of heaven
when life will just begin
