“How do you spell yes?”

“Y.E.S.,” I reply.

She scribbles away at the other end of the table.

“Tape please,” she asks.

The paper, tape, and little girl disappear up the stairs. A short while later she returns.

“More paper please,” is the next request.

The pencil continues to scratch away.

“More tape please,” follows.

The pounding of little feet up the stairs resounds once again.

“Daddy, come up to my room. Mickey needs help.”

I climb to the upstairs landing. Turning the corner, my daughter calls through her open door for me to enter. On the door are two freshly made signs -

Daddy YES.

Jayce (her brother) NO.

Both have lovely pictures included to emphasize her point.

Emi then notices that her brother is standing next to me in her room. That’s when things get interesting…

So I sent for you immediately, and it was good of you to come. Now we are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has commanded you to tell us." Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right. (Acts 10:33-35)

It’s a good thing God is impartial. He is perfectly able to give me direction and love with no bias. He also does not keep anyone out. He does however require us to love as he does.

Now I must continue in my quest to teach my children this.

In Christ,
TD
