Did you have your cup of coffee
was it filled up to the brim
Were there dregs floating on the surface
making your days grow dim

I remember reaching for the sugar
but, grabbed the salt instead
What happened to this day I wondered
as I watched the situation spread

My cup of life's coffee started off good
the flavor was good to the taste
Feet on the floor, and I was out the door
hoping none of it would waste

But, life is full of surprise's
and that is rather it be good or bad
There's going to be a few gregs in the cup
but, I can't afford to be sad

Everytime when I feel like giving up
a thought comes back, what will life do?
Well, it will go on from dusk to dawn
so the rest is left up to you

Now the dregs of life may be hard to swallow
not easy when going down
So we really got to have some wits about it
letting it know we'll hang around

And take whatever comes or goes
but, put a prayer in front of the door
And ask God to help us meet each challenge
for we will need him, and that's for sure
