Allocated or anxious

"Cast your care upon the Lord, who will give you support. God will never allow the righteous to stumble." [Psalm 55.22 NASB]

When I was first converted, the theological principles regarding the providence of God were clearly taught, especially during Bible studies.

Regretfully, with the passing of time, this practice seems to be out of favour with some of our present-day leaders. Be that as it may, it is still worth remembering that, from eternity, God’s penetrative foresight, infallible wisdom and comprehensive providence, have carefully designed and manufactured you. Nothing for your benefit was overlooked.

Why, you may ask, did God go to all that bother? He strongly desired, and still desires, to give you the best reward possible. Therefore, with this thought fresh in His mind, He lovingly and accurately allocated how much, with His assistance, you could bear.

However, when we, in the full glare of this word, take a careful assessment of our current situations, the majority of us will honestly admit that His original intention and our situations, are not, at present, complementary

In a determined effort to combat this failing, some of us may need to remember that there are certain priorities in this life, which in the wisdom of God, He has foreordained for His people to carry and there are other concerns which He has reserved for Himself. This principle is both the foundation and the solution to understanding and applying this verse to our lives.

By this time, I am sure that you already know, that there is a vast weight of difference between joyfully sharing with God what He has deemed necessary and imposing upon yourself and others, bucketfuls of anxiety.

Therefore, if you are still labouring arduously in a well-trodden, weary and worrisome path, God now commands you to do as He says and the liberating effects will automatically follow.

One day, I was given a vision, and I saw a man, who seemed to be carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. As he moved ever so slowly along the road, he came to a solid brick wall, and try as he might, he could not find a way through. [Is this where you are today?]. Walking quickly, from the left-hand side, Jesus came to where the man was, and said, "Let us go through this together." The Lord put out His hands, touched the wall, which immediately crumbled, and hand in hand, they both walked on together. This, my friend, He is able to do for you.

When He is your only stay and support, you will have smoothly and seamlessly moved away from the dominion of “I need to do … “ and been enveloped into the life and liberty of the Spirit.
