Sometimes I find while driving, I make it to my destination, and I don't even remember the drive! I'm like a zombie behind the wheel just going through the motions. When that happens, I have to ask, Was I even paying attention? Could I have missed something important along the way? That's a disturbing thought! But I think we all have moments, days, weeks and maybe even months like that. Have you ever made it to a point in your day or even your life where you just begin to wonder, How did I get here?

Periodically, we need to be reminded the journey is just as important as the destination. We can't simply run from point A to B with blinders on hoping that we make it safely to our intended goal! Walking through life with our hands over our eyes and ears will result in many missed opportunities and unknown possibilities.

Everything and everyone in our life has formed us and made us who we are right now. You've probably heard the expression, "God is the potter, and we are the clay." Well, He does that shaping and molding throughout the complex state of affairs that we call lives and the people in them - the good and bad from any and everything. When we deal with situations and people in our lives, we are to take something from those experiences.

Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. {Proverbs 4:7}

Let's look at Jesus' life. Yes! The end result is SO critical - He's the bridge that carries us over to our Father in Heaven! But the journey through His human life was VERY significant. Every story of Jesus we read in the Gospels not only changed the lives of everyone he physically came in contact with (for better or for worse!), but also BILLIONS of people who have looked to the Bible for encouragement, answers and instruction ever since His time here. Just think......had He not traveled to the lands He did; encountered the people He did; said the things He did.....where would those people be.....WHERE WOULD WE BE? We'd have the knowledge of the "end result," but we wouldn't know how to apply it!

We have to remember to be present in the present less we miss the opportunity to learn something, help someone or even hear God Himself speaking to us. A familiar path is not always the best choice. When we take that same route everyday, we tend to become numb to our surroundings. When what [we think] we know overshadows what we REALLY don't know, we miss so much.

When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. {Proverbs 11:2}

So, in an effort to get to know God and extract some of that glorious knowledge, I am going to concentrate my attention on each step of my journey. I'm going to take that Godly "spotlight" and shine in on every detail of my life. Nothing or no one can be too miniscule to ponder or too great to wrap my tiny brain around! Uuuuuuhhh....this goes for you too! PAY ATTENTION!! God can and WILL present Himself through any means necessary so let's not miss our divine lessons!

And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father...... {Colossians 1:10-12}
