What is my purpose? Karen Gibbs Feb 2010

I’m letting this one go.
Stalked it first, but it eluded me.
Would you believe I thought I had it in the bag,
and the cheeky bugger slipped away.
Trust me to think the whole deal about
‘purpose’ in life might be tame-able.

How utterly naive.
It came back and bit me.

Not gonna' track it any more
Too like ferreting out rainbow’s end:
the glorious colours wasted
in the pursuit.
Maybe when I stop hunting it,
It will come to me -on its own.

Hopeful thought
I shall wait.
