Like most others like tonight
I sit and write by candle-light
I write about so many things
Most of all needling stings

Every so often now and then
I can’t remember since last when
I took a break and wrote anew
What about I wouldn’t have a clue

Here I sit tonight and write
Like I do most every night
I love to write about the Son
To whom I love most; just One

My candle burns gently aglow
As I peer through my window
I see the spirit high in the sky
Just as Angels pass right by

To let me know God is near
Now for rest I have no fear
His love my candle well alight
As I write well into another night

If His pre-sense is not there today
Then truly; I have nothing to say
I need Him to help me say it right
Down on paper with pen I write

Of the Lord, our God I feel His pre-sense
Fill my heart purely of all inner-sense
To hear Him call is my pleasures delight
For Jesus is to me; my only candle-light
