Where The Roses Never Fade

I remember the first time I saw your face
And how it lit up the sky
I remember my heart was an empty space
And all you said to me was, "Hi"
"How are you doing
So good to meet you
You look like you could use a friend"
So you sat down
And then we talked awhile
And then we finished with "Amen"

I'd never before prayed
You told me my price was paid
You rose and shook my hand
After we said "Amen"
We'll meet again someday

Now these days I sit and write about
The friend that came to me that day
