"Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors" (Proverbs 8:34).

What can I do? I thought when a tiny, yet expensive bottle of medicine disappeared.

I had traveled to Washington, D. C. for my Christmas vacation from college. This incident threatened to spoil my good time.

"Eloyce, have you seen my medicine," I asked my cousin whom I visited. Neither Eloyce, her husband, nor her two sons had seen it.

I shone a flashlight under the bed, but I did not see my balm. I looked on the dressers and searched my suitcases. I walked all around the house, seeking this little article. I nearly despaired.

Then God reminded me, "Lynn, you haven't prayed about this."

"Lord, please help me find this medicine," I pleaded. "You know where it is."

Then I got off my knees. The missing object zoomed into view under the Christmas tree.

I fretted and nearly cried because I ignored my Ally. God waited for me to implore His aid.

God blesses the man who makes prayer his whole life, watching daily for Him and waiting upon Him.

Prayer: Oh God, forgive me when I forget about You. Help me seek You in prayer first, instead of making it a last resort. In Jesus' name. Amen.
