You don’t know my bitterness.
Not unless you’re me.
If you could, then redress.
Give me truth, and set me free.

Speak to me of faithful love;
   of the One I know.
Send reminders of above.
Brother, make me glow. 

Bless me, please, with conviction.
My face is already there.
Grant truth’s kind constriction.
Be kind with a dare.

I’ll rejoice in the truth,
   even if it hurts me.
Freedom will be my proof
   that the Lord can see.
