Redemption
By; Gary L. S. West
It has been years, but seems, not months, nor weeks, but days
When vile daemons vexed my soul and darkened my weary gaze
Darkness before me and corruption in my heart held my hopes at bay
I felt the fetters bind my hands, and shackles bind my feet
I was led by chains around my neck and escorted by Hell’s elite
Daemons laughed and devils scorned, for they knew their victory complete
But in my despair, my eyes looked and found something I’d never known
Tears streaked my face, the joy was almost pain, as I watched the light that shown
I cried out to God and to me He softly spoke, “My child, I take you as my own.”
And as He spoke I looked about me and daemons and devils did flee
I raised my hands, my fetters, they broke, and my shackles did fall free
I called to God, I praised His name, I trembled saying, “I give myself to Thee”
His voice returned, “Come thou unto me, my child. Come thou unto me.”
