"Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles." Isaiah 40:31

The characteristic feature of an eagle is the way it soars high up in the sky and flies towards heaven.
Just like an eagle teaches its young ones to fly and catches them safely on its spreading wings, so does the Lord protect us under His wings.

When I traveled back last week after a visit to my homeland, there were numerous thoughts flitting through my mind.
As the plane sped on the runaway and took off leaving land behind, my heart was heavy at the thought of leaving behind all my near and dear ones.

High up in the sky surrounded by the clouds with the Pole star shining brightly, I felt so close to Heaven. I knew I was under the watchful eyes of our Lord as he leads every plane safely to its destination.
It is always hard to part from those we love. The joy of meeting and the pain of separation are like two sides of a coin.
Though, miles can never separate thoughts and feelings.

I will cherish every moment spent with my loved ones, though brief, they were treasured ones which filled me with immense joy.
Maybe, I did not express this joy to the fullest which was deep inside my heart.
But the bottom line is that these precious moments and the love felt will be safeguarded and held closely to my heart. It is these memories which will keep me going in the days and months to come. Perhaps, I have already left a part of me behind.
Sometimes, silence can spell out feelings louder than words. I hope the happy moments spent will erase the pain of parting.

I am also sure the coming days and months will fly at a rapid pace. It is faith, hope and love which will see us through.
My only prayer is that God keep us safe until I meet everyone again; until I soar on the wings of our Lord’s protection and reach my homeland once again.

Finally, one day, our spirits will soar high up in the sky like an eagle to reach our eternal home in Heaven.
