20 years later
Seems like just yesterday, she was looking at the little bundle of joy that she daddled in her arms, she felt as though time had stopped in its tracks.the world seemed to take on a new meaning. She felt the little fingers tug at her long ones, its fist barely encompassing their circumfrence. The toothless grin gave her such delight, and the unintelligible gurgling sounded so musical. There she was, a young mother to her first born, looking down at her image captured in the little portrait that god just painted and sent for her to keep.
Now, a score of years later, the same fragile arms have steel sinews to wrap them around her shoulders in a reassuring embrace. The same toothless face, now a youthful one with handsome features exuding a radiance and confidence looks down at her, and mirrors her countenance of love, gratitude and care.
